What we actually repair
Structure, panels, plastic, and paint, in the order the car needs them. All of it on Dyer Blvd.
Damage is rarely only one thing
One hit usually needs three or four of the jobs below. Structure comes first, paint last.
Collision repair
Damage sits in layers. The cover that took the hit, a bar behind it, and a rail behind that.
Frame and unibody straightening
Most cars have no separate frame. The floor, the rails, and the pillars are the structure, and they fold in a set pattern.
Paint and refinishing
Color starts at the code on the door jamb sticker, then gets sprayed on a card and checked against the car in daylight.
Repairs are blended outward, and clear coat goes over the whole panel.
Dent and ding repair
Where the paint is unbroken, the metal can be worked from behind. Where there is no access, studs are welded to the face and pulled.
Several shallow pulls beat one hard one. Stretched metal cannot be shrunk back.
Bumpers and plastic repair
A split cover or a snapped mounting tab can often be plastic welded and reinforced from the back.
Covers are refinished off the car. The brackets and absorbers behind them get checked too.
Panel replacement and welding
Some panels bolt on. Others are welded, and those get cut where the manufacturer put the seam.
The photographs show body work in general. They are stock images, not vehicles repaired here.
Not all of it happens here
Body work is the middle of a repair. The jobs below get scheduled around it and stay on one estimate and one file.
- Wheel alignment
- After structural work the suspension angles are set on an alignment rack.
- Glass
- Windshields and door glass are booked with a glass company so the work does not collide with paint.
- Sensor calibration
- Move a windshield or a bumper cover and the camera or radar behind it can need recalibrating.
- Towing
- Not drivable? Tell us where it is and we will arrange the tow. Towing is billed to you or to your claim.
- Mechanical parts
- Radiators, cooling lines, and steering or suspension parts hit in the same impact are handled here.
The warranty
Six months on the work and the parts we supply.
